Good tablet with a few slight setbacks, June 3, 2013

I have had this tablet for about a week now and I am liking it. I'm
going to break it down into a Pros & Cons list, here goes:
Pros:
* 1080P IPS panel looks great
* Great battery life
* Comes with Bluetooth keyboard tablet case & a usb docking cradle
* Keyboard has a physical on/off button/ w full sized keys, good feel to it.
* 500MB/s read, 495MB/s write from the included Toshiba 120 GB SSD
* It can cold boot windows 8 in 6-7 seconds.
Cons:
*
Acer has the HD4000 graphics locked down to 128MB. This is a setback
for gaming. However it can still play minecraft at 35ish fps and plays
newer games like arma II on med-low settings.
* Processor
throttling is bad. I assume this is how they are getting 6.5 hours out
of this tablet. Using Intel's extreme tuning utility, you can see the
processor throttle back as soon as the proc hits 61c. This is far far
far less than Intel's maximum operating temp of 105c. This means that
other similarly equipped tablets are going to be far and away more
powerful at demanding workloads and gaming than this tablet. Acer could
fix this issue with a BIOS update but time will tell if they do or not.
Still, it plays the games I like to play (minecraft / dayz) fine, so I
can live with that..
