Excellent picture quality that rivals DSLRs, May 8, 2013
By Jay
I've owned this camera for about a week now, and I am very happy with
it, despite the steep price tag. I also own a Canon 5D Mark III; The RX1
is a great alternative if you don't want to break your back carrying
your heavy DSLR & lenses.
Obviously, the fixed lens and the
hefty price tag are major issues. And being that this is Sony's first
try at the compact full-frame market, I'm sure they will release an
interchangeable version in a couple of years. With that said, if you
have the money to throw around, then I would recommend this camera
wholeheartedly. The image quality (especially in low light conditions)
is simply amazing! Just understand that since this is a 35mm fixed lens,
the use for this camera is somewhat limited. However, I still would
give this 5 stars, because it is still a darn good camera, especially
for its compact size.
So bottom line, if you have to break the
piggy bank to purchase this camera, this camera is probably not for you.
If you're a pro or an avid photographer, understand its limitations,
and won't go bankrupt by purchasing this camera, then I say put it in
your cart and purchase!
